John Walker Jr.
From the birthplace of Jazz and the City of Music Traditions, John Walker is a pioneer musician in the city of New Orleans. For over 15 years he’s been an active member of the Grammy Award Winning, New Orleans Gospel Soul Children Inc., which has been in existence since 1969. Since the year of 2016-Current, he has served as the Music Director for the New Orleans Gospel Soul Children Inc. He also served as the Music director for International Recording Artist Professor Craig Adams and the Sounds of New Orleans. He is also an active member of Multi Stellar and Dove-nominated Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling, which is a prominent ministry based out of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Walker is a graduate of John Ehret High School, where he served as a 3-year superior rating Drum Major, while still receiving a list of accolades for his musicianship and leadership from John Ehret High as well as LMEA District VI solo/ensemble, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Mr. Walker currently serves as the founding choir director of Livingston Collegiate Academy Singing Wolves, and founding teacher of the massive media hub of Wolfpack Productions(Sound Design, Music Production, Media, etc.). As well as the Assistant Director of Bands for Alfred Bonnabel High School of Kenner, LA which are two profound high schools in the Southeastern Region of the state of Louisiana. During his years in education, he has received multiple accolades and teacher of the year awards(Chic-fil-A Best in Class Feb 2023, NOTEA 23 Recipient, etc.)
Mr. Walker has performed with a list of artists and musicians such as: “Last Holiday’s” Tonia Scott and The Anointed Voices, BET Sunday’s Best Finalists Maurice Griffin, Kenji Igus, Derick Grant, Legendary Tap dancer Dianne Walker, Ryan Johnson, Xavier University Gospel Choir, and a host of many more.
Mr. Walker is known as “jDUb” for his own original musical style as well as his bright personality and professionalism. It’s through those attributes that he has been able to travel around the nation singing and playing various types of music. Mr. Walker has performed at several festivals including the New Orleans French Quarter Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Praise Fest on the Bayou, New Orleans Jazz City Tap Festival, and Bayou Boogaloo Music Festival just to name a few. John is on a steady mission to promote the personal and musical growth of the next generation.
